"The Trustees of the Adventure Service Challenge (ASC) Scheme have decided to close the scheme from 19th May 2018. This has been done with huge sadness after the astonishing 58 years service to children and young people.

The decision was not taken lightly and discussions on how to keep the ASC going have been taking place over a number of years. The main reasons are for financial and personnel (lack of volunteers) issues.

The Charity will remain solvent and will be disposing of its assets up to 31st December 2108.

There will be an opportunity for groups, leaders and schools to acquire remaining stocks of resources at reduced prices until fully depleted. Please watch the website for details over the next few months.

Thank you all for your support over the years and you can be certain that another charity will be benefitting from any residual funds." (April 2018)

They aim to achieve this whilst providing structure and training which forms an ideal precursor through the Adventure Service Challenge scheme, a precursor to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. The funds will pay for outdoor learning tutors, first aid training and ASC record cards.
